Everyone loves a good fountain but unless you have traveled to Reno, Nevada and experienced the theatrical special effects of the fountains there, you are missing out. When it comes to indoor water features, some fountains are simply better than others are, Reno’s version being one. Formerly a Hilton Hotel, the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino has gone under some serious renovation, making it a real showstopper.
The beauty and seclusion are two of the primary reasons people love this resort. As construction on renovations continues, you can literally, watch a major transformation taking place. Although this resort has always been impressive, it is definitely impressive now. Located on 142 acres, you will fall in love with all the amenities to include a 50-lane bowling alley, lake size pool, beach club dining, go-karts, laser tag, indoor gold simulator, outdoor driving range, and of course, the spectacular show provided by the famous fountain. In fact, while adults will love this too, the construction of the world’s largest indoor water park makes this a child’s favorite playground.
Initially, the special effects provided by the Reno fountain were known as “dance thru”. While this feature still exists, many new things have been added. Today, the fountain offers flow nozzle dance niches, a 60-gallon and 24-foot wide dump for water coming from a 50-foot height that goes down into a trough measuring five feet wide. Additionally, the fountain has several positional nozzles, each operated by a special type of joystick. Then, the system has a roll-off tank, which has its own 18 nozzle wave fountain, along with bubble panels. Best of all, this all incorporates with a massive swimming tank designed with a 1,000 GPM waterfall.
As you can imagine, the fountain is amazing, something you could just sit and stare at for long periods. When the fountain was first conceived, the thought was to create a live, theatrical performance fountain, which was successful. In addition, the original design made it so the fountain could be operated manually using a professional and lit “busy box” and PLC-presets. All of these design concepts were brought to life by the builder, Aquamation, Inc.
Interestingly, the fountain at the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino holds the title of being the largest, indoor stage fountain in the entire world. This design is also such that the entire fountain can be struck and removed in a matter of just three minutes. Then, the prefabricated stainless steel tank located down stage is 100 feet long, containing special effects on which the dancers can perform using a special flooring surface designed specifically for this purpose. Another fascinating feature of this fountain is the huge water arch, which covers the down stage area – measuring from wing to wing, a full 80 feet.
Combining the spacious rooms, the unbelievable amenities, reasonable rates, prime location, and the theatrical fountain into consideration, you can easily see why this resort is quickly becoming the choice for people near and far. Staying at the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino will ensure a restful but exciting time that you will not soon forget. You can shop or gamble during the day, enjoy the day spa, swim, and then at night, head down to the stage to watch an amazing performance with dancers and the interior water fountain.
You will have the experience of a lifetime, making this particular resort your new all-time favorite, wanting to come back year after year.

Questions re wall fountain
Here's a question I emailed to Garth: "We have a couple of questions I'm having trouble finding answers to: How much water does a wall fountain use per day? Do they make an electrical hum noise or other noise that will wake sleepers? This is for a bedroom. "
I received a very comprehensive answer, which on my antique computer I couldn't copy adequately here, but perhaps he will include it. We have more questions which I'll post later.
