More and More Companies Are Making Changes With Water!

After hearing this story I felt it would more than appropriate to share it here.  I think it speaks volumes.

Gary was impressed. He had been off to Disney for a family vacation and he was amazed at the changed in the office during his absence. Gary was in sales and had been there for only for 2 years, but he hardly recognized the small office upon his return. He knew there were changes coming, but this caught him off guard.

The wall fountain in the front lobby with their company logo was what really impressed Gary the most. He had seen this type of wall decor in some very large insurance firms, actually he saw it in a number of the corporate offices of the companies he represented and was an underwriter for. He was shocked at the change, it looked really good. It was a far cry from the office he walked out of only 2 weeks ago.

He felt different in the office this morning as he flipped through his stack of messages and mail. Aside from the shock of seeing the change it seemed to somehow have affected his psyche. He seemed to hold his head higher. It felt like he was in one of those higher profile offices with a much stronger corporate image. The physical changes within the decor of the office did much more than just change how the rooms looked. The new colors and changes gave a breath of life to the room.

It's true. Our physical space does affect how we view ourselves and how we act. The clothes we wear, vehicle we drive even our personal hygiene all effect how we act and feel about ourselves. If this would have been part of the motivation for the office face lift it would have been a great business strategy, but it was driven out of wanting to make some changes and as a strategy to minimize taxes.

Whatever the motivation, the changes to the office made changes in the office and the level of professionalism increased and subsequently so did sales.

Does a simple coat of paint and an indoor wall fountain change companies? Of course not, however those minor changes can start to change the overall atmosphere of an office and therefore impact the people who can change a company.
